what's the contingency plan then

also forums suck. Not having nested comments makes them useless
huh

and i thought reddit, et al. were unreadable BECAUSE of the nested comments model, which invariably makes very poor use of horizontal space and scatters discussion in a million directions where you always have to press "load more comments" and wait was i on level 6 or 7 of this megathread? who is this guy even replying to?

but yeah i would support discord as an ADDITION TO forums. it is one of the more convenient and sane chat things in 2020 and i use it for other stuff already. it's also nice that it's available for pc, mac and linux as well as ios and android. i try not to use my phone so much, i prefer to communicate with folks with a real keyboard. so lots of mobile-only things are off the table for me.

i might start an RC discord server if no one stops me. i mean why not right ;) ;) ;)

Pretty much EVERY instant messenger has a desktop version.

I've never managed to synchronize my Telegram app conversations with the desktop version, which kind of defeats the purpose. Dunno what the problem is, whatsapp works just fine.
Strange, I take it you tried to re-install/update it.
Mine works fine on 2 different PCs and phones, which makes it 4 devices.

Once I got used to the reddit style and the ability to hide/close nests, the discussion is focused much more than here where it's all over the place.

But whatever, I doubt i'm going to convince you old fucks.
