I'm being liberal with my application of genre here, so as to avoid numerous prefixes and suffixes resulting in twelve hundred seperate categories.

Abigail Williams are not black metal and even if they were, they still suck.
Seriously.

Just because Abigail Williams paraphrases Emperor too much doesn't mean they're a black metal band. They're a metalcore act with "spooky" keys and a mix of influence from a few notable later-period symphonic "black metal' acts such as Emperor, Dimmu Borgir and the infamously maligned Cradle of Filth, and the typical melodeath you hear in most modern metalcore, i.e. At the Gates and the like. That does not make them black metal.

And for the record, the vocals suck.

Traditional Metal: Black Sabbath and Judas Priest
Thrash Metal: Sepultura, Slayer, and Kreator
Black Metal: Celtic Frost, Mayhem and Bathory
Death Metal: Obituary, Entombed, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Incantation, Malevolent Creation, Decapitated, Bolt Thrower etc etc
Grindcore: Napalm Death
Industrial: Nailbomb
Doom Metal: Cathedral
Sludge: Crowbar and Eyehategod
Groove/Modern Metal: Black Label Society, Pantera and Pissing Razors
Hardcore/Metalcore: Biohazard

Yes, pure grindcore and hardcore are punk and not exactly metal.

Seriously.

they have just about all the elements of a black metal band, just with a few extra elements from other genres

What elements?? Keyboards and high pitched growled vocals?

Bah. It is obvious that you are completely in the dark on the subject of black metal. It's pointless to continue discussing this with you. Enjoy your black metalcore.
