What's your favourite video games?

This is also forgetting that the XBOX can be played online as well.
Yes XBOX Live is one the XBOX's redeeming qualities I will admit that. I would rather play better games that aren't online, though.

The GC has 4 brilliant exclusive titles. Thats it. You mustnt look very hard when you go to the store to buy games as 75 percent of GC titles are available on other systems.
That because most local shops don't stock many GC games. Alot of the ones on my list you would have trouble finding to purchase because shops don't stock them, but can be bought from DVDCrave.com etc. Also, because there is so many crap third party multiplatform games released, along with all the good ones, of course a large percentage of games for any given console are available across the board. Nintendo still has more quality exclusives though, and I am not talking about brilliant games (althought the XBOX doesn't have any more brilliant exclusive games than the GC anyway), I am talking about above par, quality games.

The MGS on the GC is a remake of the first MG game with a few new bits. How original and refreshing to have better graphics on a Playstation game. Almost smells like Resident Evil to me, new graphics on a last generation Playstation game, then try and sell it as a new game because there are a couple of new areas.
Actually it is a cross between MGS1 and 2, combining story lines and all the best bits from both games. You were the one who said MGS was such a brilliant game, I just mentioned that Nintendo are taking that and making it even better.

You already went on and on about how most of the XBOX games are pc ports, id take Deus Ex and Half Life (is half life on XBOX? It must be...?) on XBOX over Metroid Prime, in spite of the controller, which you can just buy a replacement one thats better anyway.
Half Life is not available on the XBOX (I have it on the PS2 and Metroid Prime kills it anyway), and only Deus Ex 2 is available on the XBOX, which I hear is shitty anyway, and again I am sure I would prefer Metroid Prime.

Taking 2 old games and combining them isnt bringing out anything on the GC that will get people to buy it :)

Im surprised Half Life isnt on the XBOX yet actually.

I am not saying Nintendo's MGS will be worth buying a console for, I am just saying it will be a quality game (I never played through the original MGS so I will be interested in it). You brought the game up and I am just saying Nintendo will be bringing out their own version of it, which I am actually interested in more than MGS3.

Also, your the one saying you would like to play Half Life and Deus Ex on the XBOX (2 games which aren't even on it I might add), which are two old games themselves. What is the difference between that and a MGS remake/update?

The first MGS rocked! :headbang: (I dont mean the old NES one either!)

I could have sworn Deus Ex was on the XBOX... Or is it on the PS2? I dont know why they would release it for PS2 and not XBOX...

I was saying I would rather play those 2 games than Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime is good but not a game to buy an entire system for.

Stop saying that! What game from this generation WOULD you buy an entire system for, if any? I wouldn't buy either system for one game (thought the GC is very cheap now, so I probably would actually  ), but I would buy the GC over the XBOX based on the entire selection of games.

Deus Ex and Half Life are both on the PS2. I have Half Life, and am watching a copy of Deus Ex on ebay for cheap, might get it if I can pick it up cheap.

That is why I am looking forward to MGS on the GC, the better story and such of MGS1 with the better physics and controls of MGS2, with better graphics than both of them.

Wicked Child: you sure did dude! SOA just keeps getting better! A few others in your top ten that would probably make up my top ten to fifteen as well (Super Mario Bros. 3, Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night, Viewtiful Joe and Megaman X).

Another of my favourites that just misses out on the top 5 is Bubble Bobble. Best arcade game ever.
Yeh, SOA is one of those games. The deeper you get into the game, the tighter the grip it has on you. I've lost many hours of slep playing that game. And Viewtiful Joe had that exact same effect on me. Have you played it yet?

And Castlevania, Mario 3 and Megaman X are just godly. The be all, end all of 2D platformers, as far i'm concerned! And Bubble Bobble.....:worship:

I've hardly played any games in recent times. All I have is a PS1, which suits me...though it's been sitting in its box since I started uni last year. I dunno what the situation in England is now, but in 1997-98 everyone who had a console had a PS1. Almost nobody bought the N64 there.

In England I had a Formula 1 game with Joe Satriani on the soundtrack. That fucking rocked, but I haven't managed to find it again. :( The first Tomb Raider ruled too. :headbang:

Favourite PC game ever is Monkey Island 1. Classic.

Which is the best console these days for soccer and cricket games? That's basically all I play these days anyway. Is AFL 2004 out on all of them?

the playability of carmageddon was shithouse! It had the WORST handling of any racing game that i've ever played.. granted it's been years since i played racing games, btu still.. It was a chore trying to control the car!
