it was through the sex and religion record .. was astounded by some of the stuff going on in there ..
then a club i used to go to played one or two strapping songs, i asked the DJ what they were, and was hooked ..

he bought "Sex and Religion"
then he gave it to me because "some idiot ruined every song by screaming like a rabid homosexual"
I took it....and Devy's delivery blew my mind....
I began to cry....but that was mostly because I had sat on my balls....
I later heard that that Devin dude had a new band called Strapping Young Lad with the mighty Gene Hoglan on drums...
the rest was....as the cliche goes....history

Was big into Fear Factory at the time. Someone recomended SYL and I was like WHO? I was niave and never pursued the suggestion until I heard Ocean Machine which consequently got be hooked. Have them all now but it was the slow atmospheric OM that I first fell in love with......about 2 years ago.
