I first heard them 3 years ago, my best friend made me listen to "Everytime I Die" & "Angels Don't Kill"
I remember not really liking "angels" at the beginning, but wow...when I heard "Everytime I Die" I just couldn't help but fucking like it.
It was something very new to me, I remember thinking it was built and composed perfectly, so melodic and harmonic.
I immediately knew that they are good and then just caught up in their early stuff.
My first boyfriend wanted to take me out to my first metalconcert 7 years ago.
So he gave me "Hatebreeder" and while I was listening I got the shivers because it was so beautiful...
When we went to the concert I was totally crazy about them!!! And especially Alexi...
About the whole downloading music thing. It makes me pissed off many people, especially teenagers, pop up with their pink mp3 players with downloaded rare songs which I had to search and order from Japan or whatever. I still do not own an mp3. I buy CD's. Altough I'm considering purchasing one, just to make it easier to switch albums on the road.
COB are still lucky to be able to make a good living with the music, even tho only 10% of the income is from the albums sold. You can't stop the earth spinning and you can't stop piratism.
I fondly remember the days of my early teens when someone had a special stereo set with this cool CD burning slot with blue light and stuff that you could burn albums with, as back in those days it was impossible to get money to buy albums. And someone always had to have the original product. And it was dangerous because it was illegal and it was new.
One reason why I buy records is because a recycled music file always loses some percents of quality, and it's just not the same anymore.
Shit, didn't notice this thread is from 2001. I bet the guy from USA (last poster from 2001) isn't around anymore to reply how he heard Inearthed before COB..
a friend of mine from high school was in the Army and stationed in Germany-he got into them and sent me Something Wild (and cds from a bunch of other bands..Nightwish, Sonata Arctica etc..)..been hooked ever since
'Twas three years ago... a friend of mine downloaded a bunch of songs from FTR. I thought they were awesome, so I went home and downloaded Mask of Sanity, Hate Me, and Follow the Reaper.
I was hooked ever since. They're now my favorite band.
Er, they came to the Hellfest Open Air, in2007, which happens not very far from where I live (but I didn't go there unfortunately) and there was an article about them in the newspapers (and I was really amazed, like: "wow! they did an article about metal and they don't mention any grave-profanation and shit!"^^) and I read what they said about it and I was like: "well maybe i should listen to that band, hey!" and then.. thanks deezer.com!
It was not really what I was used to listen to but.. loved it anyway!
back in late 2004. my friends kept talking about this one band called children of bodom and then he gave me his ipod to give it a listen and i thought nothing of it, but when i went home and typed in kissing the shadows on youtube and that's the song that's had me hooked for the past 5 years.
