When the F is "Weltanschauung" coming out?

Maybe the other way around... but yes.

i.e. Staying loyal to English-speaking fans so that non Ukrainian folk can enjoy it in the same way they do.

But they've used english lyrics for so long in the past, arguably just to appeal to a far wider audience. Go figure why even the most underground European bands (not talking about NM here obviously) write in English. not cool, but it works out well for me :)

I guess it just strikes me as being very peculiar. You can't understand the lyrics anyway, so what difference does it make what language they sing in? I prefer the idea of written translation.

(Granted, I haven't heard the release so I don't know how extensively the clean vox are being used).

Besides, I think I'd prefer the Oriana version. I have no problem with non-English vocals, especially when the band themselves don't speak English to begin with. At least it will 'sound' more genuine.

You can understand the harsh vocals just fine, as far as such things go.. or at least I could.

I might go for the Oriana one also, it would seem more authentic.

and the in-between filler tracks are different as well

I just caught this.....so it's not just the songs with vocals, it's different instrumentals across the two releases?

If this was anybody else, people would be hitting the roof right about now. I don't see why NM should be above this level of criticism. It's just very, very suspicous.

I suppose the vinyl release will have a fucking bonus track now.

No no, I think every non-English speaking band should release 2 versions of every album now. Hell, why not release the album in German too? If it's good enough for David Hasslehoff....

DONT YOU FUCKING BRING DAVID HASSELHOFF INTO THIS...

but whatever- I don't really care what they are going to do with their album. I don't think they are going mega-jew and trying to cash in, but if they are, whatever. I won't get the English AND Ukrainian versions.

I do believe that we need to have a little more faith in metal bands than this, for fucks sake, how much money is a band like Nokturnal Mortum gonna make off album sales either way? We're talking about a couple of thousand copies at most, out of which they don't get much, correct?

"we need to have a little more faith in metal bands?". Dude, you're preaching to the fucking choir.

What they could have done is released a 2 disc album. Ever consider that?

I'm going for the Ukranian release. Red Stream usually gets Oriana releases and sells 'em for a normal price. No Colours releases are always $2-$3 more at every mailorder than normal prices

You mean to jack up the price and force people who only want one version to buy both?

I know we're not going to end up agreeing on this, and I know that you've been having faith in metal bands since before I was born, so I'll leave this one alone :)

Well, Blind Guardian recorded one of the songs on A Night At The Opera in five different languages that were released in their respective territories, didn't they? I think ManOwaR have done something similar too...

I dunno which version I'd go for :erk:

You guys need to calm down.

The issue at hand is to spread the message. No Colours caters largely to the underground area that can understand English, while Oriana music likely caters to it's own local market, many whom probably can't speak a word of English. Doing it this way spreads their message to the largest possible audience without alienating their local listeners by singing in a "foreign" language (especially important for a band as nationalistic as NM). The message is the essential part, and the music is the vehicle for it to make people listen to it.

Yep, that's pretty much the message of my post- and I agree. Even if NM made 10 versions of the album on Sony, they wouldn't cash in.

A double album normally costs $2 more than a single album. I just figure that it would be nice to have all the material for $14, instead of having to buy 2 albums at $12 each.

I'm even surprised this is up for debate. I figured everyone would recognize that.

It's got nothing to do with the singing. The message is in the lyrics. If you can't understand the vocals, then the message is only relevant in print form. Therefore, translating the printed lyrics in 100 languages would have been more apt.

I'm not accusing NM of being money whores, I'm simply aiming some frustration towards the fact that if I want ALL the music from the new release, I am FORCED to buy both versions at DOUBLE the cost. That sucks, and is therefore worthy of some criticism IMO.
