Opeth is awesome. I've seen them live twice, and I have all their albums except the first two. I love their heavy stuff, but their new album has really grown on me. I might consider them my second favorite band.

Opeth is one of my favorite bands as well, saw them twice this year and they were excellent on both occasions.

I'm not Opeth's biggest fan... but I do like much of their work... excluding "Damnation". "Still Life" is my favorite album... though "Deliverance" might be my favorite song. "Orchid" is awesome as well.

I have "Blackwater Park" and its growing on me. They are one of the few bands that write ballads I actually enjoy, mostly because Mikael has an awesome clean voice. I'll get "Still Life" sooner or later.

I think they're my 2nd favorite band after Symphony X. My favorite albums are Still Life & Blackwater Park.

yeah the album... dunno. that's an oppinion by the way, not a truth. I just can't get into it... haven't been able to listen to the whole album even... if someone can recommend a really great song other than the first few, i'd love to go back and listen... i just can't listen to it though.

Wow1 Didn't knwo we had so many Opeth fans down on the Symphony X board! I'd love to see them live but the last time they came here i was out of the country.

I think my least favourite Opeth album is Deliverance. I think the songs are too long and repetitive.

Great band. I heard 'Harvest' on a cd compilation a few years ago and loved it. Then i checked out "Blackwater Park" and hated it. I have an extreme hatred of growling/screaming vocalists...they always strike me as ridiculous and completely unnecessary.


A little while passed and i bought "Damnation" after hearing that it was an all mellow/clean vocals album. I loved the album and decided to give their harder stuff a try. I currently own (in addition to "Damnation") "Still Life," BWP, and "Deliverance" and they all rock.
