Who invented Blastbeats?

I've posted what I think about Yngwei before and it's not all good, but I think there's a lot of unnecessary bashing of him that goes on. Now he may have his head so far up his arse that he can chew his tonsils, but his songwriting IS, I think, underrated.

It's his own fault because he draws attention away from his songwriting by his continuous and rather monotonous soloing. If you listen to an album like 'Fire and Ice' without concentrating on Yngwei's embarrasingly apparent ego, you WILL hear some truly excellent songs. Well over embelished by continual sweep-picking yes, but still excellent.

Yngwei has another strength; he has an interesting and unique sound with that single-coil strat. His playing style, though unimaginative is also quite distinctive.

You only had a problem with him being 'creative' and that's fair enough, I wouldn't argue with that, but I like to make my opinions heard! :D

I never put atention to the actual songs of him cause well like you say he makes it hard to, all i can think of is that this guy is sweap picking his way to doctor willie or its about to win the circuit on fzero. So its like i really wouldnt know about his song writing abilities but its not really my fault isnt it?

But just for the shake of it, i will give him a try and like ignore his solos.

you've all posted good bands cept for mister trendy there. i wuv metawwicka. did you all forget about dissection.

Tapping its very elegant and even fast and impressive tapping use doesnt instantly equals arrogance, you seem to imply that everything that looks and its hard to play has no real value you like want every guitar player to play crap so they dont look arrogant, just as you probably want every drummer out there to avoid blasts so they are not arrogant.
Velyaman, you mistook what i said.

I want guitarists to let it rip.... I'm a bit Chuck and Atheist fan... so what the hell are you going on about?

Tapping is EASY btw... it is the simplest technique... there is better things that can be used that will sound better, but sometimes tapping sounds great...!! It's just that some artists overuse it.

Same goes for blasts. They are fast... but that doesn't mean that they make the song any better. Listen to the atheist drummer... now THAT is drumming that i can appreciate...
