WTF is going on in London

GAS just went outta control in the UK. See what capitalism/marketing does to people?

It says FUCK CAMEROON behind that black guy there. Racist limeys!

Alright I'm just joking cause no one's dead yet. But this is some wild shit for sure. This kinda shit will only play into the Nazi freaks hands. But things will only get worse in the west I'm afraid. I think this is a direct result of money going up in thin air. If everyone has the toys they want, no one really gives a shit, and that's just human nature.

edit: oops sorry that was a woman. fuck.

This is saddening.

EDIT: I'd nuke 'm, if it would only be them. Kill 'm all dammit!

Fucking shit...

A Sony distribution warehouse in North London was burned to the ground around 4:00 a.m. GMT this morning during the third straight night of riots in the UK, as the BBC reports. The 200,000 square-foot center housed the entire inventory of PIAS UK, the primary distribution hub for more than 150 independent labels.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, but all inventory is feared lost. XL/Beggars, Warp, Rough Trade, Domino, 4AD, Sub Pop, Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, Drag City, Thrill Jockey, FatCat, Kompakt, Mute, Ninja Tune, Vice, and Soul Jazz are among those affected.

Prior to the blaze, the manager of Rough Trade East Tweeted that Trumans Brewery, the arts and media quarter that houses the store, was on lockdown and that the store had to be closed "as a precaution to ensure staff and customers can get home safe tonight." Today, Rough Trade is encouraging customers to assist in cleanup around the city.

I am not trying to start some stuff, but I really don't understand what your getting at.

It's a shitty world out there. You can try and have a laugh about some things or you can rage. Sadly somebody has already paid the highest price of this so there's nothing to make fun of anymore.

If you didn't getit, there's a FUCK CAMEROON graffiti behind that woman in the YouTube vid. David Cameron is the British PM. Cameroon is a country in Africa. I highly doubt that Cameroon had anything to do with these people's woes and grievances.

Kids with £100 trainers on their £300 smart phones organising riots because they're impoverished. LOL.

In all seriousness this is pretty freaky. Why the fuck has it took the government so long to authorize the use of rubber bullets?

I really hope this doesn't move north of the border. Fortunately for the moment Scotland seems to be taking a bit of pride in the fact that we're the ones behaving ourselves for once!

What? Shooting a bunch of British kids for no reason whatsoever?

I fail to see your rationale, sir. Was Anders Breivik's murder spree/bombing in any way called for?

There is no rationale, just wondering how many people think this way, and i live long enough on this planet to be sure there are some that think this way.

Don't you remember all these angry voices after 9/11 ? You could read and hear "Nuke all middle east" and things like that.

I'm sure a lot do, and this is pretty fucking scary because whatever these idiots have been doing is far from the sociopathy displayed by Breivik. It's one thing to loot and destroy property, a whole other thing to murder indiscriminately.

I've been following discourse on this issue on several metal-related forums with extreme opinions from far-left and far-right sides, and have been treated to some pretty idiotic opinions from both. On the one hand yes the phenomenology of this is disturbing (but then again not so much, to be frank), but on the other hand I think police definitely should be authorized to use tear gas and water cannon at least in instances when shit gets outta control like this. The whole "ultra-liberal" view that civil society will take care and police itself strikes me as a little stupid. When money and hopes are low animal instincts tend to take over.

Yay!

The police are authorized to use water cannons, but they are useless against this kinda of thing.

Also, there have been groups going out to protect areas, some of which are football supporters, local residents and some are the English Defense League (Aka wannabe nazi wankers)

I really do think that to stop this properly the police need to be given some real leway to use force on people with masks on, otherwise, if your fast footed and can get into a group easily, there's no reason to stop.

"Whenever there is a conflict between human rights and property rights, human rights must prevail." ~Abraham Lincoln

A region like Tottenham has 35% unemployment rate among the young (age 16 to 25).
The government cut 75% of the money destinated to social projects there.
Last week, 8 of the 13 youth culture center of the region were closed.
Police officer are always there to intimidate them. If you´re wearing a hood, the police will stop you and treat you like a criminal.
One week prior the riots, Scotland Yard authorized the police to stop/search/interrogate anyone without needing any reason at all.

So it´s a population that have poor education, no job, discriminated, in a economic crisis, with no future. The government doesn´t give attention to them and cut the social projects. Turn them into "gangsters", because it´s simple to deal with gangsters, just use repression. There´s no communication channel between the population and the government to demand things.

Then the police killed a boy.
The population (family, neighbors, friends) went to the police department to demand answers, to know why the police killed him.
They stood there for 4 hours without getting any satisfaction from the police.

If one violent act, a spark, spread that much, to that many cities, it´s because under the hood there´s too much social tension, conflicts and struggle to survival. You can only push people so far. When they explode, if your answer is more violence, you need to know you´re fighting an enemy that has nothing more to lose.
