Wearing a hood is seen as aggressive/antisocial, in the same way as covering your face is, the people that do it are well aware of why people don't like it.
I recognize the root social causes youre talking about MindMunch, but that does not justify the rioters burning down shop owners property and attacking and stealing from innocent pedestrians.
I support peaceful protests were people demand changes in their society. Destroying other peoples businesses and robbing them is merely criminal activity.
To me that whole argument falls down with the fact that this wasn't an isolated incident in London where that boy was shot. It's spread all over England to people who have NOTHING to do with the original protest.

It's a cultural thing, I doubt it's percieved in the same way in Brazil.
Stupid people are stupid, we all know that.
I don't mean all people wearing hoods, I don't think you'd deny that a lot of young guys do wear them to look like badmen?
its not just about the clothes, it's the body language
I can't tell by the news coverage how much is hyperbole, but it looks bad there. The news is portraying it strictly as criminals and thugs doing this. Is this more of a backlash from the recent protesting or is it opportunistic rioting like they make it out.
In any case. Everyone that's in the vicinity, stay safe.
That's what I think most people mean when they refer to hoodies though... maybe I'm just being naive?
