Historically, economies IMPROVE during time of war. And there was a huge surge in consumerism. Remember that whole "BUY AMERICAN PRODUCTS!" deal?

Bill Clinton spent time defending himself from accusations that had NOTHING to do with his presidential record and everything to do with the Republican party's spite at losing the White House. He wasted valuable time going on trial for something that was not a crime, while conservative pundits assaulted him from all sides with baseless idiocy like the "Nationwide Clinton Murder Ring" or whatever Ann Coulter was babbling about; now these same pundits scream "TREASON!" at anybody who dares to criticize George W. Bush's actions as a president. Hypocrisy at its finest.

The stock market is improving, but it's still nowhere near where it was during the Clinton years...and judging solely on the stock market false economics, anyway. The REAL problem is jobs. Unemployment has soared under Bush; I repeat once again: BUSH WILL BE THE FIRST PRESIDENT SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION TO PRESIDE OVER JOB LOSSES.

Stocks are making money because corporations are making money; therefore, the rich benefit (and benefit more from Bush's one-sided tax cuts). And don't pull that voodoo economics "trickle-down" card; it didn't work with Reagan and it won't work now. The rich don't spend their extra money improving the American economy; they invest more and spend overseas.

Jobs are going overseas too. The reason there's job losses is because Bush is urging American corporations to outsource jobs to India and Japan. American jobs are being sacrificed for the profit of the companies, who can pay a guy in Pakistan ten bucks an hour to do what an American would demand fifty for.

A Nobel Prize winner for economics called Bush's economic plan "the worst in American history." That oughta tell you something.

9/11 nearly killed the airline industry and hurt our economy even more.

Think Bush is the only one who had his hands in Enron's pocketbook? So did Slick Willie, and for that matter Gray Davis, who rightfully got kicked out of office for LYING about our deficiet, and spending his happy ways overpaying for energy contracts because companies like Enron had him paid off and was nothing more than a puppet.

I see the economy picking up locally, I think that's a good thing, but of course, you hate it since a liberal is not in office.

2 years after the tax cuts, the economy improves. A very notable Democrat, JFK realized this, So did Reagan, and now Bush. why can't you? You liberals are great at pointing the finger, but horrible for accepting part of the blame. California is in the shits because of Gray Davis.

Bush and his neocon crew sent us to war under false pretenses. Remember those photos that we were assured were weapons of mass destruction? They've turned out to be nothing of the kind. Remember the drone planes which were supposed to be able to attack the US? Turns out they can't fly over a few hours. We all know Saddam did have gas weapons, because he used them against the kurds - over a decade ago...but by all we know now, his plan for nukes seems to have been just a dream, and not a single gas weapon has been found, indicating that that weapons system had also been dismantled and destroyed.

Our deficit is the worst it has ever been. If Reagan could think nowadays, he'd be turning over in his near grave. More and more fiscal conservatives are really getting aggravated about this; its supposed to be the democrats who are spend crazy but Bush leads the pack, with the Republican controlled Congress.

Bush has spent more days vacationing than any president ever. Does that sound like a leader who is vigorously concerned about leading the country against terror? And by the way, they like to describe his "ranch" as such because it sounds good and texas macho, but in reality, to be a ranch, its gotta have cattle, and there are none at the ole Bush hacienda.

Bush got into yale with the most mediocre grades possible. during vietnam his dad's buddies vaulted him over a waiting list of hundreds of national guard wannabees to get him into pilot training, which by the way, his score for flight training was as low as it could be to allow him into the program.

his record as a business man is so poor but his dad's buds continuously bailed him out of one fiasco after another.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Kerry or Gore or frosty the snowman would be better or worse; that's purely hypothetical, and completely tainted by our outlooks. and yes, the two parties are so inherently stupid that I'm a registered independent. Facist is a social term. Think of all the cencership that is being pushed right now.

I can think of some Canadians that I know that would not agree.

Their healthcare program is a disaster. Waiting lists are horrible and the quality of coverage is abysmal.
