comments? questions? know who YES is?

Heh, I read the title of the thread and thought it would be about me. Since I am the delicate flower in here, blooming in the radiant sun, petals like silk, slowly trampled upon by you Metalhead's misogynistic feet.

*swoons.

edit: Yes fucking blows.

That made up for every shitty pride post* you've ever made.

You win.

*grain of salt plz

Great album. South Side of the Sky and Heart of the Sunrise are my two favorite Yes songs.

That's great, except isn't it too GENERIC for your tastes?

which is the best Nick Cave album?

they're all the best... hmmm...

my personal favorite (this week) is Your Funeral My Trial, it's Nick's best lyrical album by far (title track, jack's shadow, the carny, and all the rest honestly), and musically it's one of the most consistant.

of course i'd have to really say the debut "From Her To Eternity" is the best musically, and it also could challenge for best lyrics (title track, saint huck, the moon is in the gutter, well of misery, and all the fucking rest).

for the "catchiest", most accesible album, i'd pick either Henry's Dream or The Good Son, but that's not to say either of those albums aren't insanely quality, they're just lyrically and musically somewhat lighter than what came before, with the exception of "Papa Wont Leave You Henry", which i would probably say is Nick's single greatest lyric on any of his albums and one of the darkest and most complex stories he's ever told.

Tender Prey has some astonishing moments, most notable being "the mercy seat", what most fans would prolly site as the best Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds song ever, but there's some questionable material on there too.

...

fuck...

...

I'd say get "Henry's Dream" and "Your Funeral...", but you should eventually get all of them (you don't really have to get Murder Ballads or Nocturama, but you should definately get The Boatmans Call, the best later-years Nick Cave album by a long shot.).

sometimes, over the course of a few decades, something that was really astonishing and totally different in it's day somehow falls into the realm of "public domain". it can't be helped.

but YES is hardly as "stock" as The Grateful Dead or whatever the fuck else.

Thank you for admitting that. And I wouldn't say GD are that "stock". They have a few radio hits but they are mostly well known for long improvised jams which are hardly generic or commercial.
