Guitar: Thomas Wilkinson (Immolation)
Bass: Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse) - say what you like about the band, but that guy IS a good bass player
Drums: Tim Yeung (Hate Eternal, Decrepit Birth)

As for black metal:

Vocals: Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone)
Guitar: Ihsahn (Emperor)
Guitar: Abbath (Immortal)
Bass: Seidemann (1349)
Drums: Trym (Zyklon, Emperor)

Three thumbs up for that black metal lineup! That would be a amazing project, indeed, although I would possibly exchange Trym with someone. Maybe Hellhammer, if I didn't hate him so... (Although I have a hard time hating someone so handsome....)

I considered going for Frost instead. His performance on 1349's "Beyond The Apocalypse" is simply amazing.

No he isn't. The only thing he's ever done is Slayer. That's it. Nothing else. Not Grip Inc., not Tomahawk, not Fantomas, NOTHING besides Slayer.

You're right, he's not in Tomahawk. Also blah to you, I love Slayer but Lombardo's best work was with Grip Inc., and the bands you mentioned are frickin' incredible.
