Lustmord - Zoetrope
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works" vol. 1 and 2 are both good stuff, not entirely dark ambient though.

I highly suggest getting Sephiroth’s “Cathedron.” It has a great atmosphere and is very dark ambient music. The songs are, of course, very long and repetitious, but it sets an excellent mood.

I just got Ulver’s “Lyckantropen Themes” a few days ago in the mail and it is awesome. I’m not sure if it would be considered ambient, but it is awesome; very dark and brooding.

You might want to also check out Raison d'être.

Arcana, Raison d'Etre, Sophia, Elend, Sephiroth, Ordo (Rosarius) Equilibrio, Coph Nia, Karjallan Sissit, Mortiis, maybe Dargaard if you are into darkwave too.

I know very well Mortiis isn't dark ambient, I just included it in the list because it is very repetitive and puts me to sleep just like DA.

some of it is. "Strenth of Fates" is one of the darkest and most ambient tracks ive ever heard.
