What are your perfect metal albums, with absolutely no flaws? Here's a few of the albums I've heard over the years that've been truly amazing:

Opeth-Still Life
Agalloch-The Mantle
Samael-Passage
Burzum-Det Som Engang Var
Testament-Souls of Black
Enslaved-Frost
Pentagram-Day of Reckoning
Artillery-Fear of Tomorrow
Bal-Sagoth-Battle Magic
Fear Factory-Demanufacture
Arcturus-Aspera Hiems Symfonia
Blut Aus Nord-Ultima Thulee
Vintersorg-Odemarkens Son
Converge-Jane Doe
Windir-Arntor
Edge of Sanity-Crimson
Symphony X-The Divine Wings of Tragedy

I'll usually give out a perfect score every year or two.

Good thread :kickass:

Dark Tranquillity- Damage Done
Wintersun- Wintersun
Children of Bodom- Hate Crew Deathroll
Fear Factory- Archetype
Dark Tranquillity- The Gallery
Sonata Arctica- Winterhearts Guild

Not many, actually. I've only been into metal 4 years and don't have a ton of experience, but these have all stuck out. I do have a lot of stuff that's blowing my gaiters right now:

Amorphis- Eclipse
Insomnium- Since the Day it all Came Down
Angra- Temple of Shadows
Dark Tranquillity- Exposures: In retrospect and denial
Sonata Arctica- Reckoning Night
Kalmah- The Black Waltz
Bal Sagoth- Anything
Agalloch- Anything

Hope this thread doesn't die, it kicks ass :)

You should check out Bal-Sagoth's last album that they just put out last month, if you haven't. It's really good, but I prefer their old stuff.

Agalloch is also coming out with new material soon.

Sweet. The reason I say Bal-Sagoth is that I downloaded a few of their tracks the other day and it is seriously rocking my socks off (I don't know what album they are from, unfortunately) I've been scathing every record store I know seeing if any of their stuff is there, but it isn't, so I'll just keep waiting... Thanks for the Agalloch info :kickass:

Enochian Crescent-Black Church, i can't stop listening to it.
Rapture-Silent Stage
Iron Maiden-The Number of the Beast
Judas Priest-Screaming for Vengeance
Opeth-Damnation
Katatonia-Discouraged Ones
Stam1na-Uudet Kymmenen Käskyä

Yeah good thread man.

As a huge Maiden fan, I'd like to put some of their albums in here, but hell, even the best ones have some pretty bland songs.
