The problem I have with this genre is that many of them are actually just gay power metal bands (or this silly "battle metal" fad) whose music does not come across as sincere. Kind of damages the image of those who are genuine.

Folk Metal, for the most part, is shit. Finntroll are probably about the most credible in that genre. Unleashed = Viking Metal.

I don't listen to as much folk metal as I'd like, but I enjoy Finntroll, Enslaved, Ensiferum, and early Satyricon for my folk metal needs.
