your favourite books

"The Song of Ice and Fire" by George Martin is really good :)
Other than that, I can recommend "The Exam" by Malcolm Bosse and "The Experiment" by the brothers Strugatzki

as per my post title: too many books to name overall favourites, but i can certainly list a few of my all–time most read and most loved (in no particular order of preference).

john irving: a prayer for owen meany;
james joyce: finnegans wake;
fyodor dostoevsky: notes from underground;
الغزالى (al–ghazali): the revival of the religious sciences;

The Sword of Truth Series, The Wheel of Time Series, Song of Ice and Fire, Memory Sorrow and Thorn series, The Wayfarer Redemption series, War and Peace, 1984, Farenheit 451, and many others

I just finished reading Hart's War by John Katzenbach. Very well written novel, recomended to people interested in WWII, prisoner of war camps, and court room drama.

Sword of Truth, Wheel of Time, Dark Tower. Now I'm starting the Renshai Trilogy by Reichert.

I haven't read Fire and Ice yet. Frankly I think its going to suck, based on peoples reviews of it.

Oh and then I've got the Bible and Catch 22. Because I love comedy, although I can't decide which is funnier.
