Your first Metal album

Don't want to make you feel old or anything but that's the year I was born. Hahahah ;)

Well I don't know if Belligerent read your post, but it sure as hell made me feel old. :p

I started out on the extreme metal at a kind of late age (16/17) but I can remember hearing Deicide - Legion for the first time on a tape copy that was made for a friend of mine and thinking "woah!". My first purchase from this type of music was Carcass - Heartwork.

Belligerent:
Speaking of mothers and Metallica... Mom used to let my brother and I play our Metallica tapes in the car when she'd drop us off at the mall or something like that. I think part of her liking them was because she thought James was hot at the time.

I made my mom listen to a few Primordial songs, although she's not into that kind of stuff and I can't say she's interesed in music that much. I even translated and wrote down lyrics for her. And she enjoyed it.

My mom used to like Led Zeppelin when she was young. Might have liked Black Sabbath as well, cant remember about that one. Both my parents were always ok with my music of choice. My mum liked some of the more melodic stuff but never when it got to brutal, especially not with vocalists that growls or screams. However its not music she would buy or listen to herself but that she found cool listening to from time to time with me.

I guess music wasnt part of my teenage rebellion, that came with clothes and certain philosophical ideas.

Well if Rammstein counts as metal, then Reise, Reise was the first metal album I ever purchased, soon after it came out in '04.
