your hoped for Damnation

before i heard it was going to be a '70's prog' type album i was really exited about it. I was thinking that all the songs would be in the same vein as there previous acoustic songs but only more amazing. Damnation will be a good album, but i was a little dissapointed when i found out it was gonna be a prog type thing. Although im sure i will love it anyway.

I agree with Morgour I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping it to be an all-acoustic album but still we have to wait and see....

I think that probably about 90% of Opeth fans might likely hate Damnation, and say that Opeth sold out or something, etc., etc.

I, personally, am hoping that it will be something almost completely different--like a whole new entity--from previous Opeth albums.

I think I'll love it, for its diversity. And I quite passionately love music in the vein of 70's prog, esp the stuff like Paatos and Camel (which I know Opeth love).

So, hopefully the cd will be the less like previous opeth acoustic work and more prog (one main difference being saturation in keyboards). Imo, the proggier the better

I never wanted it to be ALL acoustic. Opeth would have done it very tastefully I'm sure, but that wouldn't be very original. I'm hoping its an adventurous proggy kind of thing.
