Work: Not-for-profit ebook services firm doing marketing, event coordination, professional development programming for publishers, some admin and some freelance graphic design on the side (book covers, infographics, typesetting, etc.)

School: HBA in film and comm, 1-year postgrad in publishing, some design courses. Considering a master's or another degree if this whole publishing thing doesn't work out.

Hobbies: cooking, playing tennis and basketball, reading, volunteering for film festivals in Toronto, listening to too much music, not doing my work when I am at work (like now)

I haven't shipped any of my brews. The only one I have left right now is my English style barleywine. Haven't brewed in a while, but I will be brewing up a storm this summer (saison, IPA, wit, and a bourbon barrel stout)

Guitar, I'd play more if I had people to play with. Springfield totally sucks dick for original music.

Mtn biking, I love the shit out of it. Started riding for the sole purpose of losing weight, now I love it

Probably going to go to Community College after HS, and going try to transfer to a UC or CSU after a couple years.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm going to a community college for a couple years to get an AS, and then I'll transfer to a 4-year to continue my studies.

Honestly, I don't see the point in going to community college if you're not going to try and transfer to a 4-year. If somebody's going to put in all that effort for their Associates, might as well go an extra couple years and get that Bachelor's degree.

I know it's early, but do you have any schools you're aiming for? It's really far away for me, but I'd like to get into a UC near the Bay Area, probably something like Santa Cruz (obviously Berkeley would be my school of choice, but that's almost impossible, especially for me). If not a UC, San Jose State or San Francisco State would be cool, and if I wanna stay closer to home, Long Beach and Dominguez Hills.

Community college is good, too, if you're not entirely set on your major. I switched from music to history after my first year. As a result, I'm five courses short of my associates. I'm not sweating it though. I'll be attending for another year of full-time classes, and I'll be taking some fun, but major-related courses to fill out my schedule. Philosophy, Regional Geography, and such, and perspective of various topics is always a useful asset in history. Had I done this at a university... well, I wouldn't have done it because it would have been far too expensive.

Work: I currently work as a pharmacy technician for CVS/Pharmacy, but I just put in my two-weeks notice. Rite Aid offered me a 25% pay increase, which I was excited about to say the least.

Fun: I play guitar, but no longer often enough to claim the title of guitarist. I try to read as much as possible. I'll be learning some German this summer to keep my mind fresh for the next semester.

Community College is great. Cheap, gives you time to figure things out, and if you fucked up in High School, you can still get into a good school if you do well in CC. I was just saying that I personally think it's a waste of time if you don't plan on transferring to a University after a while. An AA degree doesn't offer that much of an advantage over a HS diploma to warrant spending 2+ years to get it.

An AA isn't worth the paper it's written on, unless you just want to get one for fun. Speaking of fucked up in high school: I purposely didn't give a shit about high school and bombed it, with the intent to make up for it in community college. I graduated with an embarrassingly low GPA of 1.8.

^lol, 1.8. I didn't try at all either and got like a 2.9. And yeah I did the community college thing for 3 semesters too. Definitely worth it tbh.

I have done pretty good in school for most of my life, but I've been doing pretty fucking bad this year (I even had a .8 gpa in the fall! lol). Im just going to graduate with whatever (probably around 2.4, Ive been doing better), and do my best in CC.

Job: Cable technician for one of the big telco companies over here. Recently started my own PTY LTD after subbying off a mate for 5 years. Money is much better and I'm loving being much more in control of everything.

Hobbies: Listening to/playing/discovering new music and attending gigs, hanging with my fiancé, drinking/socialising/partying, internet, gym, good television, good food.

Work: Financial Services Rep for an online trading firm. Combination of broker/customer service.

Hobbies:

Discovering/listening to new metal (a given here of course) with vinyl collecting a possibility I'm still mulling over due to costs of certain rare releases...
Indie PC Games/occasionally MMOs.
Reading mostly history and sword/sorcery fantasy.
Texas Hold'em either online or with friends.
Walking/working out- I've gotten a bit out of shape over the winter and trying to walk 1-2 miles a day- more when possible.
Trying new reasonably priced scotch (I won't go over $80 a bottle)
Trading options off and on. Credit Spreads are fun.
Reading forums/articles online about all of the above.
Limited amounts of TV when none of the above are appealing.

Neither getting shit faced drunk every night nor being married like 90% of my 25-35 year old cohorts seem to be...
