What would your ideal band be in terms of musicians? If you could form a band using any dead or living musician?

Steve Walsh - Vocals
Jörgen Sandström - Growls
Zakk Wylde - Rythm Guitar
Jon Nödteidt - Lead Guitar
Cliff Burton - Bass
Ian Paice - Drums

It´s mainly from a composal point of view, vocalist and growler just because they´re so damn good.

Lemme see...
Steve DiGorgio - Bass
Jesper Stromblad - Rhythm guitar
Luca Turilli and Alexi Laiho - Lead guitars (but not rhythm)
Johan Hegg - Vocals
Anders Friden (from 1995m via time machine) - Vocals
Alex Starpoli - Keyboards
Inferno - Drums

Would be fuckin' epic/brutal/insane/absolute-shit-in-all-probability!

Hmmmm...
Dimebag Darrell
Zakk Wylde
Kerry King (not huge fan of KK but...)

This was going to happen before Dimebag died, as Zakk stated in an interview. Not sure who they would have got on vocals though.

Steve Souza - Vocals
Bobby Gustafson - Lead Guitarist
Robb Flynn - Rhythm Guitarist
Cliff Burton - Bass
Scott Travis - Drums

bah I dunno. this doesn't represent my favorite bands, but rather musicians that are very proficient IMO.

edit: I just noticed the irony of having the ex-Arghoslent vocalist in a band with black guys.

Nergal - Vocals
Vitek - Drums
Samoth - Guitar
Jeff Hanneman - Guitar
ICS Vortex - Bass
and maybe Mustis - Keyboard

Guitar- Ron Jarzombek (Spastic Ink, Watchtower, Blotted Science)
Guitar- Rusty Cooley (Outworld)
Guitar- Allan Holdsworth
Bass- Lars Norberg (Spiral Architect)
Drums- George Kollias (Nile)
Keyboards- Jordan Rudess

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!   :loco: LMGDMFAO at putting Allan Holdsworth in there with those guys  Allan is GOD, but he sure doesn't belong in that kind of band. Just try to picture it...

Ron Jarzombek is an extremely talented guitarist, but he does play outside the box a bit too much for my tastes. I've had problems being able to get into Spastic Ink, but I don't have his 2nd album yet... Never heard Watchtower...

Cooley is a wanker with terrible phrasing. Outworld is a cool band, but definitely not because of his solos. For a weird shredder stick Dave Martone in there  The guy has loads of technique & ideas.

Kolias is a blast-beat / double-bassing drum wanker. Stick a guy like Mike Manigini or the guy from "The Faceless" in there Bro  I've been liking his drumming a lot.

Drums - joey jordison

Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals
Mikael Åkerfeldt – vocals

Then he does A'Capella death metal with his clones.

Have to do a groove line-up as well.

James Hetfield - Rythm Guitar and Vocals a la 89/90
Fredrik Thordendal - Lead Guitar
Johan Defarfalla - Bass
Nicke Andersson - Drums
