With thrash you can be as picky as you want, i reckon. there are just so many bands in the genre that suit what you like, and then were will be so many that dont. With the thrash trend people pick up on random bands and like them just because they are"thrash". Be as picky as you want with music. Its essential, definatly if you write shit.

Warbringer - Probably the most intense thrash IMO

they are close enough, but I think most people would call them NWOAHM (which is a mix of thrash and groove metal generally)
