Can you try to be more specific ? I don't understand what you say haha :)

Power amp sim and cab/mic/miking sim are independent and can be switched on/bypassed separately, if that's what you're asking.

I think he wants to record the post-loadbox signal.

Ok, or to be more specific and from what i understand : use the torpedo as a loadbox but record the poweramp out signal of his amplifier.

If so, then i guess it's yes : plug your amp head into the torpedo speaker input (the same way you would plug your amp head to a cab) (and if you wanna use a real cab for monitoring in addition to the torpedo, use the torpedo "thru" output), and then record the poweramp out signal this way :

-put a DI box after the other available poweramp out (fx loop i guess) of your head, straight to your audio interface
OR MAYBE
-use the torpedo as a DI box itself (since it's receiving the poweramp out signal), bypassing everything (poweramp / cab/mic/miking) except its loadbox, straight to your audio interface
-> i guess the latter should work but i'm not 100% sure, maybe you (alquimistas) could ask Guillaume from Two Notes directly on the Two Notes international forum (http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=75) and post the answer here

EDIT : TRUIE is better than me at that kind of stuff, don't take my word for it :)

Yeah, that's what I was saying :D

-put a DI box after the other available poweramp out (fx loop i guess) of your head, straight to your audio interface
FX Loop is preamp out, it's not the same thing.

-use the torpedo as a DI box itself (since it's receiving the poweramp out signal), bypassing everything (poweramp / cab/mic/miking) except its loadbox, straight to your audio interface
I think this one should work, we just have to know if you can bypass everything (cab+mic simulation) on the Torpedo Live.

The only other solution I can think about is (Djab, I'm pretty sure that's the one your were thinking about too) :
- plug your head PA output on the Live input, only to take the load
- plug another PA output (same ohms as the first one), into a DI (this one have to handle enough watts) > Mic Pre > DAW.

But I hope the second solution (bypass everything) is possible, as it will be a lot more convenient than this last one.

thank you for your help.

I mean to use my Head Mesa Boogie Roadster with the torpedo Live. I want to know if possible disable emulation cab in the Torpedo Live (for the Torpedo Live did not work as a cab, but only as a load box) to record only the signal of the Mesa Boogie Roadster (Valve PowerAMP + Valve Preamp) without effect cab.

Is Possible the recording of the signal of Roadster Head only without cab effect through Torpedo Live, using this Torpedo Live only as Load box to don´t burning the Rectifier Roadster. This signal only from Head (Poweramp Valve+Preamp Valve) is more flexible for me in the moment of work.

Thank You.

@alquiistas : you should read the user manual, which is available on the Two Notes website : http://www.two-notes.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2012/03/EN_MANUAL_torpedo_Live.pdf

Here's what i've seen :

"Plug your 8 ohms out on your amplifier to the SPEAKER input of the TORPEDO Live. (...) Connect the S/PDIF OUT of the TORPEDO Live to the S/PDIF IN of your audio interface. (...) An S/PDIF signal contains two audio channels. The TORPEDO Live is a mono unit, so we decided to give
a great feature : sending the WET signal (with miking simulation) through the LEFT channel and the DRY signal
(without miking simulation) on the RIGHT. This way you can record the dry and wet signal simultaneously. Use
the WEt signal to play as usual, and the DRY signal from the amp"

"The THRU, S/PDIF and LINE outputs can be used simultaneously."

It also says you can bypass the poweramp and miking (cab/mic/mic positioning) sections :

"You will find three modules in the EDIT mode (Power Amp, Miking
and EQ), followed by the output volume of the preset (this volume
setting is saved with the preset, so you can adjust the levels in order
for the presets to be at comparable volumes).
You will see on the first line of the screen the module name and its current state (On, Off, level in dB for the
OUTPUT LEVEL)"

EDIT : so to me it seems you can do all that you need with the Torpedo live : use it as a loadbox only (with the poweramp and miking (mic/cab/mic placement) sections bypassed, and record the signal out of your poweramp out through it (and you can even record a "wet" (with poweramp and/or miking sections activated) signal on the other channel at the same time)

Thank You very much for your help!!!!!

It may seem strange that I want to use a Live Torpedo only as load box. But it is a good option for me. I would like to record only the sound of my head and then apply the impulse. This mode has more flexibility in my recordings. Also i will use all options as load IR, the cabs and mics of the factory...etc

Thank you very much. Is a pleasure to have people like you in this place

Amazing ! :headbang:

Would be too much to ask that someone with of Torpedo Live, load here a sound sample with only the sound of his head (PowerAMP Valve + Preamp Valve), drawn THROUGH the Torpedo Live, but use this only as a load box and without the simulation cab of Torpedo of the way Djabthrash said:

Thank you.

If i arm a track in the Reaper with a Spdif L /Spdif R, and i get the Out signal from Spdif in the Torpedo Live. The Track resulting in this recording:

- If I panning this track 100% right the sound is only the sound exit from my Head amp. The Dry sound without Torpedo Live. This sound is only from Amp Head without any cab or effect exit from the Torpedo Live.

- If I panning this track 100% left the sound is the sound out Head+Torpedo Live. The Wet sound.

Is possible that someone upload one example of sounds of this question????. This will Help me a lot.

Thank You.

heres something from the rate my mix forum that i have been playing with.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5382960/Mayday Parade Cover Test Mix A.mp3

Guitars are JVM into torpedo live. Green Tri with SM57.

If i get a chance on the weekend i'l try and do the spdif thing for you dude.

Cheers

Phil

A lot of thanks for your help. The recording is in my opinion a very good job. I would appreciate it if you can make a recording of Spdif with the panning tracks.

Greetings

how having somebody upload a sample of this would help you ?

just curious

(if you wanted to know if what you describe is possible, i guess so, and i remember the vb-101 has a "dry" (= torpedo vb-101 bypassed, amphead out signal only) and a "wet" (head + torpedo) out, so you can for instance record the dry signal on one track, and the wet signal on the other, but i also remember having tracks with what you describe (head+torpedo at left 100%, and dry (no torpedo, head only) at right 100%) so i guess the live can do it too)

Thank you other once. I will buy the Torpedo Live in this days and i hope that this meets with my expectations
