I don't listen to my cds any more because of my iPod and mp3 player in my truck, so the last old metal band I listened to I think was Maiden (The Bruce Years)

Good call, I totally agree. I think they both go hand in hand. You can't sound emotional in your delivery without emotional lyrical content. You can't feel any emotion out of any one that has emotional lyrics but no delivery what so ever.

I would have to go with Arch Enemy. I totally dig their guitar work, but imagine the vocals with a taste of early James Hetfield and some Ripper Owens.

I went with Beyond The Realms of Death. It's just an amazing song. So much emotion can be felt with each note in the solos. Second would have to be Rime of The Ancient Mariner. I think Diary of A Madman should have been up there aswell.

Shoot, I think I see more Metallica than anything else. Second is Maiden and Iced Earth. I see a few BLS shirts here and there, one of them being worn by me of course.

Have you heard Pride & Glory and Book of Shadows? If not I would recommend listening to those before you make a comment like that. I do respect your opinion, but if you haven't heard those 2 albums (mainly Book of Shadows) then please don't make a comment like that.
