    Megadeth - Dystopia

I've kind of lost interest in Megadeth. And Dystopia hasn't changed that. I've heard it, and musically it's great. Lyrically, it seems, in part, like a display of conservative politics crammed into metal songs, and that effectively prevents me from really enjoying this release.

    RIP David Bowie

A true artist is gone. In his final music video, he even uses his own passing as a theme, and to chilling effect. Link I was just thinking the other day: "How many of these truly genuine artists are left now?" How many artist, valuing art over commerciality, with a global impact are still...

    OT: Album of the day

Cardiacs today. A quirky, intense, immense and bizzarre album called Sing to God. This album is so majestically fucked up and filled with odd details, that a significant number of repeated spins were necessary for me to "get it". Now, it's one of my all time favourites, and an album that I...

    New album update

Ordered the vinyl from Amazon today. Looking forward to hearing the album in (arguably) the best possible format.

    New Sepultura record: The Mediator.....

I was wondering what people here were on about regarding the mix, too. I've only heard the album through Spotify, and the mix sounded fine to me. The album is good, I think. The whole "they are not Sepultura without the Cavaleras"-argument is getting a bit old, I reckon. Sepultura have...

    Chuck Billy to sing Thriller?

Yeah, Thriller was my first cassette too. Went to Kiss and Queen from there. Later I bought State of Euphoria and Persistance of time (also on cassette). Then I used a Maxwell chrome to record Among the Living (I was one of them pirates who destroyed music through illegal tape recording) and...

    New blog post from Scott

I'm hopeful. I would love to get some progress updates as they go along. And if Scott keeps adding weekly updates, as he suggests, then his blog might end up a good place to visit on a regular basis. His indication that the new album will be riffier and faster than Worship Music certainly...

    New blog post from Scott

New blog post from Scott. 7 songs written for new Anthrax album, apart from lyrics. Fast and riffy. More so than Worship. He's also had some trouble with his plumbing. In his house, that is. Link? Can't be arsed. I'm on my ewPad.

    Chuck Billy to sing Thriller?

Um...is this from the people who brought us Sin-Atra? If it is then this too will probably be a turd.

    RIP Jeff Hanneman

Sad news, indeed. Admittedly, I've never been much of a Slayer fan, but I've got huge amounts of respect for the band. I'm sure that this is a devestating loss for family, friends and bandmates. And this also a loss for thrash, a loss for metal and a loss for music. RIP Jeff Hanneman.

March 19, 2013 "Anthems" EP Release Date

From what I've gathered, yes. It was an interesting listen, and that's that. I'll stick to listening to the original Crawl in the context of WM. I don't really enjoy Smokin' a whole lot, but the rest of the tunes are good fun. I like the production a lot, by the way. The vocals have a rather...
