10 Favorite Power Metal Albums

Yeah those are all power metal. There is no genre of "symphonic metal." All bands called that can fit into other genres, perhaps with the "symphonic" added. I consider Rhapsody symphonic power metal.

...Bands like Kalmah, Wintersun, CoB and all the rest have a distinct style, a genre. I think "extreme power metal" is a good name for this genre, since it kind of describes what it sounds like rather nicely - a mix of extreme metal and power metal.

Yes, I definitely like extreme melodic metal. I think that fits the sound better.

Kiuas as well. They do a really awesome job of blending extreme instrumental styles with power metal.

The ending to Across the Snows is absolute blast beat heaven. On Winds of Death We Ride, Race With the Falcons, and a bunch more of their songs have blast beats.

Its less agressiveness and more epic and powerful
