REM is a tricky one, i owe myself several cd's and sing loudly along with several of their tracks for many years now, but it's too easy to say they are brilliant. and they fit this thread well. who doesn't love REM? i mean, i do too, but it doens't mean they're not fishy.

besides that i don't get the mysterious mysteries about them (is he gay, is he not, is it all poetry, do the lyrics mean something or not). i'm not arsed to find out right now either.

not all of them, but being 16 i had something against alanis morissette and no doubt when they used to be popular, and those feelings haven't been altered much by time. though they're not that much around anymore, thank god.

mostly it are little events which mean the last drop of tolerance towards them:
i remember this one day i was in a youth movement and we were walking for 10 hours in a burning sun, and for 10 hours there were two girls singing the same alanis morissette song: ironic. well i bloody hope there's rain on their wedding day and that they'd have a free ride when they've already paid. :confused:

and no doubt, i just don't like her voice.

i just don't like it mostly when girls identify themselves with these female singers i guess. though i don't bother that much anymore: some friends of mine identify themselves i.e. with amélie poulain. i take these kind of things now rather with a smile that bothering about them. i guess i've just not been very comfortable with the whole idolizing scene.

i do remember i was bothered about courtney love and garbage as well those days. but hey. at least courtney has a 'real' attitude, right :D

sorry had to do it. the temptation was too high lolol. i love opeth, thats why.

oh yeah, allan, as for rem, they are one of the most innovative, talented rock bands ever...in the mainstream. i love everything they put out so far, but i must say i've had enough of some of their songs like losing my religion or everybody hurts or i dont know...imitation of life? excellent band.
