2 days, no ciggas, cold turkey

Avoid doing anything that would trigger you to light up. If there's something you usually do that is particularly associated with having a smoke, don't do it. I beat the cravings by simply ignoring them (plus I was driving to Melbourne at the time and couldn't be arsed stopping to buy smokes), but that doesn't work with everyone. The sit-ups/push-ups idea is a good one. Don't snack though, because you'll turn into a blimp.

You've seen how devoid my house is of food, the temptation to snack isn't there.

I am going for a few beers tonight, but I think I can remain strong

We shall see, I am detirmined to get off them.

Koich,
well done.

$20 voucher to Angus and Robertson, Sanity or Liquorland (maybe not considering Brian's post) if you can post on January 1st that you made it that far.

I haven't smoked since the late 90's aand still get the urge when im on the piss to have a smoke, I'm not sure that feeling ever goes away.

I gave up buy eating Chupa Chump's, that worked rather well :headbang:

After thought, it was 98 or 99 I think when I gave up

I'd been smoking for 5yrs when I gave up in 1993.By then I was a pack a day smoker and more when I went out.
I was out watching bands at Springfields when one of my mates made a bet that I couldn't give up for 6 days let alone 6 weeks. If I amde it to 6 days he would buy me a 375ml bottle of my choice if I got to 6 weeks a 2L bottle of my choice.I immediatly put out the smoke i was having and shook his hand saying your on buddy.Handed the almost full pack to the 1st bloke that walked buy and said have these I'm quitting.6 weeks later got a 2L bottle of JD and thought lets see how much further I can go yet to light up since.

I just got back, I didn't have a smoke, I convinced my mate Greeny to quit with me. It didn't take much convincing though, the fact I am serious about quitting has shocked everyone else into thinking about it.

:headbang:

My cravings at the pub were met with me chewing on the keno pencils.

People are surprised by the fact that I don't, and never have smoked. Often I am asked for a light or a spare smoke, and am given dirty looks when I tell them I don't have anything, like I am lying. Stupid people.
It fucking pisses me off too when people don't believe that you don't have a cigarette or lighter to give them because *shock* you don't smoke. Not only are they trying to stooge something from someone they have never met, but they also get shirty when you have nothing for them, like that is a failing of mine. *clenches fists*
