2012 Metal Thread

Gave that The Forsaken album a couple of spins when it landed in my email inbox t'other week. Pretty good stuff!

The new Asphyx is sooooooo damn good. A true return to form imo. It's the early 90's all over again. Gotta love them tortured vocals, the dirty downtuned, chunky guitars, and the doom elements. Asphyx ftw! One of the greatest DM bands of all fucking time.

My only complaint is that whoever produced this album mastered it a bit too loud and fucked up the dynamics a bit. It's not ridiculously egregious, but definitely noticeable and become fatiguing. I'm sure stupid Century Media had a hand in it.

Embedded, ye had an errant period in the mix, and used the url tag as opposed to yt one. Damn Scientists!

I have spun it about 6 times now, and it's not really the Ufommamut we are used to. It's more ambient and minimalistic. I like dark ambient so it's fine for me. Not my favorite by any means though.
