Anyone in here fans of this band? I know this is probably a big stretch for Opeth fans but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I absolutely love their first cd. THe choruses were so epic and it sounded like a 'space rock' record. I've heard about half of the new cd, and it BLOWS. They totally took a turn to cater to the fashioncore kids and became way more commercial than before. A lot of people seem to like it though (figures)
I like the new cd a lot because I'm still a commercial fan to some degree but I do like the first cd a lot more. That first cd really is epic but it's one of those things that kinda grows on you because the music really is deeper than it seems on the surface.
oh god no, saw them at lollapalooza 2003, they sounded like a cheap-ass imitation of stabbing westward. besides, the only time i liked jared leto was when edward norton beat the fuck out of him in fight club.
