A new DT album ?

well you cant really compare sentenced to DT, their albums sounds more similiar to eacht other that DT ones.but its ok how they did this goodbye-year.
with the boring böhsen onkelz(bauernmusik nich mehr und nicht weniger onwohl paar nette songs habens schon, aber bei dutzend alben kann man das ja auch mal schaffen hehe) I heard a rumour that they also will end their career because one of the bandmembers has cancer.
 
The Onkelz are definitely gonna quit. And I agree with your judgement.. boring music, horrifying fans but some good pieces here and there

I know, and I think they always will, but what they wont have is inovation, or room to explore much else. they could do a punk album, or grind album, but another Gallery, however much I'd really like that (even if for the next ten years they realeased albums similar in sound, cos I just love it), I don't think DT will. Although it's merely my assumption: The sun will set when they don't think they can do something new.

I said Bracketing, because I feel the journey taken on that album isn't just clearly DT, it has elements of their roots, their early growth and ultimately their new edge. Character didn't do something totally new, but it did something we hadn't heard from them. They couldn't do another album trying to incorporate their commercial history again.

? what? I dont understand your problem, sorry.
ok sentenced from finnland are gonne split this year, they released a very good last album and now touring the festivals of the world to play their last farewell gigs.but they announced it some months ago everywhere and now go out with style. thats a good way to end a great career.
same with the german band böhse onkelz who do something similiar, releasing a last album and play some farewell gigs and everybody knows it. thats what I ment with my post.and I heard ar rumour that they will split up because one of the bandmembers(of bhöse onkelz) has cancer. nothing to do with DT.just marin h got haircancer with his dreadlocks :D

but DT released very different albums in their long time way to the top and back, so I dont think they will split up next time because of no ideas.

anyway this is a horrible thought, I dont know what the band is thinking that we are here discussing their end and this year is so succesfull for them!! :worship:

I really appreciate your info :wave: I first thought a DT member got sick and I want them to be all happy and healthy.Hope the other guy is OK and it's just a rumour.
 
Hey, no problems - you can discuss anything you want; we can take it. As for the style of next album, the full interview answer was like this, so only quoting the first part is a bit misleading:

10. Is it true that, as some are saying, for the next album, you are planning a new experimentation with a progressive/polyhedric structure?
It's too early to tell. I might have said in some interviews that I personally hope that the next album will be more experimental and weird, but it's nothing that we have discussed yet. I'm just 1/6 of the band anyway, so one shouldn't put too much importance into this. The songwriting hasn't even started, so anything is possible at this point.

In other words, we haven't really began talking/planning the next album yet, so it's way too early to tell what will happen. I guess that we'll start working on new material in the near future, but for now we've been too busy promoting "Character".

dare we hope for a new album as soon as 2006? :)
 
Experimentation is pretty much NEEDED at this point. There have never been three consecutive DT albums which sound so much like each other as Haven - DD - C so while Character is a great album -- and the best of the three -- I'm afraid DT might dwindle into irrelevance or worse if they just continue down the path they've blazed lately. Something quite radical is needed.
