So I guess I just like stuff with a heavy twist that is unique :erk:?
Have you already tried Atrox (Monika Edvardsen-era), especially "Terrestrials" and "Orgasm"? If not, a few mp3s are to be found here.

I also second the recommendation of Madder Mortem, especially their new album "Desiderata".

Don´t know about the "heavy twist", but still unique are IMO Gåte. (4 mp3s are to be found here.)

np: Tactile Gemma - "Hear The Cries"

while the thread my my name on it is still up and running, i guess i should make a few more suggestions...

Host - Pa Sterke Vinger
Bo Hansson - Attic Thoughts
Disincarnate - Dreams Of The Carrion Kind
Fleurety - min tid skal komme
Areknames - Self Titled
Circus 2000 - Escape From A Box

what else? you couldnt have checked out all those bands in their entirety yet. all in good time.

and i havent bothered to check out the new cannibal corpse yet, but ive been meaning to get around to it eventually. i havent been happy with that band in a VERY LONG time...id rather listen to most the other DM staples just about everytime.

Im curious to what your band sounds like NFU. If you have any samples id love to hear.

i do, but i think i want to unveil it in its song form, not just bits and pieces...it wont do the material justice. but if theres a segment i find to be true and decent enough to the scope of what we do, then i may share it early. all in good time...

Its actually alright, well, obviously if you like 1 CC album you will like them all as they are pretty much all the same. But I think the new one actually has some pretty hooky parts and some form of originality (for them), but its obviously still not that far from everything else they have ever done.

But as you said there are plenty other DM bands to listen to instead, but a compilation of chosen material from all their albums can go down nicely sometimes.

hey ninefeet, i'm assuming you know a bit about vintage synths...i met a dude who has a moog opus 3 in near perfect condition, minus a cracked key. it sounds fucking sweet though. we jammed for a while...anyway, thats my story.

thats pretty cool. i had a minimoog keyboard once. it was fun, and definitely as authentic as it gets, but it seemed like there was always something going wrong with it. thats why most bands use modern keyboards with programmed samples instead of the real deal...no reliability...especially in a live setting.

My brother wants one but will probably settle for a MicroKorg instead, but a moog/minimoog would be great. And just to stay on topic there are plently of great bands using moogs and such, so there. :)

yea, there is. The band i find exploiting them the best lately is a band called "Zombi". Basically they do heavily synth based progressive rock in the vein of latter era goblin and horror soundtracks from the late 70s and early 80s. They have one debut album that i know of...but also a bunch of exclusive tracks on their site which are quite good too, check it out.

They are opening for Isis when i see them later this month (atleast i should be going). Im going to look into Zombi. i love vintage keys in new music! why dont more bands do it!
