ok... children of bodom just played in toronto.
little bit of my history: I've become fan of children of bodom this year when i accidentally saw Needled 24/7 video on google. I liked the song really much. After I heard all their songs - i realized this is probably the best band in the world - I realize that there are bands that play much more technical stuff like Dream Theater for example - but... all those progressive bands just lack the coolness factor that children of bodom have. Their old stuff is extremely good. COB's new stuff good too, although different - but I still like most of their new stuff. Anyways, how much i like this band is a different story...
I was initially planning to come for children of bodom when they came to our town in March, but couldnt make it. I really didn't want to come to Unholy Alliance, because all other bands that were there are not my cup of tea at all - and the ticket was quite expensive for me. But I just couldn't resist the temptation. Prior to going to that concert, I checked this thread where people say that alexi doesn't play well no more.
But, I just have to say - I don't quite agree! He played quite accurate! I was very amazed.
One thing I will agree with is that the performance flew by - and there were no memorable moments left in my head about their performance :Smug:- it was kind of like watching a music video - no interaction with the crowd at all and the performance was very plain - I guess the band is pretty tired doing the same thing over and over again on this tour - I can't really blame them. I will just hope they will come soon again to Toronto and play for longer and it will be more cheerful! For at least like an hour! That performance was way too short!
By the way, I was very much dissapointed and disgusted with some crowd that came to this concert - because they were smoking pot even though it says no smoking allowed! No respect for people who cant stand the smell of pot - my girlfriend and young brother that were there couldnt breathe and forced me to leave early the concert!!! Shame on you Toronto, Shame on you!!!!!!!! And I mean what the fuck? Why the hell these guys smoke in the first place? Do they think they are hippies with no life or something? God damn hippies! Can somebody explain me - since when heavy metal culture advocates pot smoking? Drinking yes, but taking drugs is just something totally beyond my imagination!!! Because of these douchebags - I kind of feel ashamed to be associated with heavy metal fans - if people gonna think about me that I smoke pot like those losers - fuck that! I am really pissed off!
