used some pretty weird settings (at least for me) on the 5150, if you like the tone i can upload photos etc.

I think its a pretty cool tone.Not like the usual stuff u hear from a 6505 imo.The drums are a bit buried at some points(otherwise very good) and personally i'd like the cleans a bit brighter just to stand up in the mix.

i updated it again, and gradually the settings are converging towards more typical settings.

i was trying to aim for a similar character to stampin grounds tone, but I think the guitar just has a way too different midrange to do it!

Actually, I really like this guitar tone Ed. Yes, it's a little different than the norm around here, but think I'd work well with some things I do. I'd love to see those settings. Green channel?

red channel on this, you can see i mic'ed away from the center and had the presence and treble doing quite a bit of the work.

Sounds good man. I always have trouble with my tones being undergained as well, but I think when done properly you can get a really full sound, and it's something you do pretty damn well. I'll have to give these settings a go on my 6505+ and see how it sounds.

they may sound a little odd in the room - some of the amps settings are to make up the difference for where the mic is placed.....

tbh im not really keen on this, i think ill revert back to something more normal for me. just wanted to try out different stuff really.

much happier with this next tone, might reamp again and just move the mic slightly less central, take a little fizz out. in this clip its bang in the middle.

settings are pretty much the ones in the KSEs thread, except my gain is lower. i put the gain up a bit for you guys that want to hear my stuff with more gain
