anti pop for?

Hi dudes!

i have a stupid question but i have been discussing for half an hour with a friend about this and he wont believe nobody except professionals producers so please help me finish this discussion. the question is:

What is an anti pop for?

I'm assuming you mean a pop filter, for recording? Well if I'm right then it's to eliminate "plosives" in other words when you're recording vocals and you're singing it avoids the mic from picking up the harsh "popping" noises your mouth makes when you sing words with harsh constants starting with letters like p,t, c/k, ect.
