Just curious, I'm interested in seeing the athiest/agnostic to religious ratio. If you are/aren't religious, why? :saint:

I think that the model of the world that leads to the greatest predictive power at this point in time is that of science. So that's what I stick with, exclusively.

What that statement tells you is that I'm both a first class dick and an atheist :)

Interesting...

So 1.5 to 4.(There's a guy that only dabbles :D)

Here's another question, and be honest. How many of yall became agnostic/atheist after you listened to metal? Did it correlate, or just coincidentally happened?

I used to be a fundamentalist christian/creationist, now atheist. For many years I listened to metal, even slayer, but that didn't effect my faith whatsoever. What finally did was being exposed to many of the contradictions in the bible. The validity of the bible just crumbled away before me after really examining it critically. Its amazing, now looking as an outsider, how so many Christians live with their the cognitive dissonance of what they believe and what the bible really says.

I think more Christians would be Atheists if they actually read the bible.

Used to be agnostic, but then became an atheist upon further reflection and questioning. It didn't really have anything to do with my listening to metal tbh, it was just a personal realization which I came to with purposefully as little external influence as possible.

Atheist, and I always have been, despite the futile efforts of grandparents and some others to "convert" me to some other format.

I have many Christian, Muslim, Jew, and Buddhist friends, though. I'm not here to tell anyone how to live their life, and I respect all choices as long as people are honest and not harming themselves/others. Evangelical recruitment annoys me though.

Not a religous man, but I learned/read a lot about it and know a lot of cool christs and muslims.

I try to make peace with myself, and treet other people like I want to be treeted...

I believe in science and the human choice but I also dont think existence ends with the death.

the start of the world/existence of the universe (damn that sounds like a comic title) is for me something dont understandable. Einstein and other great physic guys all have nice theories but they never told us what was at first.

IMO something had to give the elements a spin to work out like that.
This is IMHO God....

very simple I know

I dunno, I've seen enough things in this world I couldn't explain to not be 100% convinced that there's absolutely nothing of the supernatural out there, so agnostic here - the eastern view of a stream of consciousness (or lifestream, if you will :D) resonates the most with me, but I'm by no means a buddhist/taoist/whatever, just not willing to say with complete certainty that there's nothing beyond our realm of existence.
