I don't want to make it sound like I don't like these bands as I definitely do like and respect both. Back in their heyday everyone was talking about them and playing them, but I couldn't get Dio, Accept, The Scorps, Yngwie and Van Halen off of my turntable long enough to listen to them as much as many people did.

I really liked Maiden up unto Number of the Beast. But Priest!! I have always been a HUGE Judas Priest freak!! Well, until Rob left them... Yea and the Turbo thingie of course. :ill:

Still old Priest untill Painkiller still rules! I think...

I started listening with thrash, and I like priest and maiden, but most of maiden's 90s wasnt all that good and I just consider them average compared to other bands.
Priest has more classics in my opinion and I like them alot, I have the iron maiden best of beast shirt and a judas priest shoulder patch for ram it down.

A good friend gave me "Stained Class", "Hell Bent For Leather", And "Sad Wings Of Destiny". I feel in love with Priest right away!

The same friend gave me "The Chemical Wedding". I love Iron Maiden too, but just a little less than Priest :)

I've been listening to both for a very long time and have always enjoyed both bands, some albums more than others, of course. I have always had a lot of music at my disposal so everything I had at that time got fair play. I've just always been one who couldn't leave the same album on for too long for fear of burning out on it.

I'll be honest, I've never been too into Iron Maiden. No real reason why. And Judas Priest is just a now and then listen. Not that I hate either band, there was just always something else to listen to.

hahahaha man I know what you mean I do enjoy both bands, and Steve Harris is a huge influence on my Bass Playin, but I have always had better things to listen to since they both Kinda bore me after a while lol I dont own to many albums by either band, I'v always prefered to listen to the heavier stuff Back in my younger days it was Pantera,Anthrax,Metallica,Slayer nowadays Its Edguy,Rhapsody, And Symphony X that have been capturing my imagination so theres just not time for the Old geezers lol Would I go see Priest or Maiden over the Younger Bands I mentioned? Fucking A right I would but thats beside the point

I am a huge maiden and priest fan and have been since forever. If I had to

choose one over the other it would be Priest cause Halford is the Metal God

and Maiden's last 2 records have been shitty.

Compared to the 2 albums before them, the last 2 were fucking masterpieces. But anyway, Maiden were the band that got me seriously into metal, both listening and playing. I always loved Priest as well. But then, I'm old, and I think it's hard to appreciate what a huge influence they were if you were a metalhead in the early 80's if you weren't there.

Saxon has been better than both bands recently that's why they headlined lot's of huge european festivals such as Wackehn Oepn Air, Bang Your Head and Bloodstock UK for the last couple of years.

I had enough with Iron Maiden they definitely died after 7th Son Of A 7th Son and they cameback with X-Factor and then they died again. They bore me to death now. I wish they down tune their guitar tones and play lot's of double bass drums so they could have been better but Helloween definitely took that ideas.

My favorite vocalists are not Bruce Dickinson. I like Paul Di'anno and Blaze Bayley more. But I'd say punk Paul Di'anno was more mean and nasty. Paul Di'anno's Killers are pretty good shit. Blaze is outstanding on his own. I even own Wolfsbane album.

Judas Priest 1974 are the definitive Heavy Metal and they have the title of METAL GODS.

Heavy Metal is from BIRMINGHAM...

I always liked Judas Priest even with Tim Ripper Owens. Stuff I don't like is Point Of Entry, Turbo, Priest... Live and Demolition was pretty weak yet very commercial albums. But most of the time they were outstanding.

30th anniversary of Judas Priest heavy metal this year.

So anyways my point is that I like Judas Priest more than Iron Maiden.

But I'm a big fan of likes of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Free, Bad Co, Deep Purple, Budgie, Uriah Heep, White Snake, Thin Lizzy and UFO etc. Ritchie Blackmore is god. Mick Box is god too.

And I'm a die hard fan of cult brummie metal gods Marshall Law since last year! Raw In The Law! Indeed. Andy Pyke, Dave Martin and Andy Southwell is GODS! :worship:

Who Dosent Love Malmsteen, Or Fuckin Dio, I Love All Real 80's Metal, But Priest Is On Top.

All Hail To The Metal Gods!!!!

And How Can You Not Like Maiden, If You Like 80's Metal??? They Got Me To Buy A Bass, And Try To Play, Key Word Try!!! I'll Admitt That.

I Dont Really Like Power Metal, Everyone I Know Loves It, Like Hammerfall, And Etc.... There Good Don't Get Me Wrong, But Way To Chezzy For Me.now Helloween Did It Right, With I Think It's Walls Of Jericho?? Could Be Wrong??

My recomended none cheese power metal is Marshall Law and Grave Digger. Marshall Law do not have cheese sing a long chorus more mean and nasty aggro thrashy Judas Priest & NWOBHM style metal. Grave Digger's singer Chris Boltendhal has rough sand paper like death metal ish style vocal and ex-Rage Manni Shmdt guitar is absolute killer guitarist.

I'd say get Marshall Law"Power Crazy Best Of Marshall Law" and Grave Digger "The Grave Digger" and "Rheingold".

I like Paragon also.

Although I like Power Metal I had enough of comics/manga like fantasy/Kiddy theme or image.

Power Metal I dislike is like Iron Savior, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius etc.

Manowar's music is ok but I can't stand that undies. Disgusting.

Jag Panzer is pretty shit but I think like they are ugly girl but still want to flirt or something like that. So it's OK. Kamelot is pretty pussy/homo style metal but it's OK.

I love both bands, but PRIEST wins this one! It's not even close! I do love Maiden, but Priest...just kick more ass. Hell, i even liked the Ripper stuff! Now THAT'S Dedication!
