Anyone in the NYC area going to see Opeth, Paradise Lost & Lacuna Coil?

I'll be there, brooks, its gonna be nice kicking your ass again dude !

Sfarog, Im thinking about a road trip to pittsburg and philly shows man, how are you going to travel ?

Irving Plaza is very strict on their recording policy and they dont let anyone tape anyshow even the band doesnt care. I'd either get beat or kicked out if I get caught.. Considering that if I would succeed sneaking in the equipment through the patdown and metal detectors.. But after all the there might a way and the answer to that question is still pending

If not,I'm willing to take a road trip to the next venue that i can record the show as long as I have the funds haha.

I'm just gonna drive there. And I'm 85% set on definitely doing it. Why, you'd need a lift? :)

do you go to a lot of palladium metal shows? do i know you?

No, I've actually never been to a show there. It's about a 3 hour drive from here. I'm trying to round up some guys to go down with me. My wife actually wants to go see Lacuna Coil, but I'm probably not going to bring her cuz I've not had a chance to scope out the Palladium and see if she'd be okay there. She's quite short and could get crushed in a show like this, heh heh.. Maybe you can tell me, is there a bar there we could drink at? How big is the place? I like to get right up front, but wouldn't do so with my wife with me, is there generally room further back where we could stay out of the fray?

How's the crowd; are there usually all cool people, or are there sometimes trouble-makers there? You have to understand, I want to bring her, but I also want to have fun myself and not worry about her being the only female at a metal show! Either way, I'll be there, we can meet up. Closer to the show's date we should all agree on a shirt to wear or something so we can find each other.

palladium has an upstairs and downstairs... i assume this will be a downstairs show -- which is a very large theatre type space, with shitty sound but cool for hanging out and viewing because it has multiple levels and two bars and stairs and railings and some seats and all that good stuff. its supposed to be nonsmoking, and this is usually the case, and ive never seen a "bad" crowd...

im a female myself, so your wife wont be the only one. since im a raging manhater, we should totally hang! (jk about the raging manhater part... sortof :))

anyway, hope to see you there! and trade insults and commentary here in the meantime!

If I was home, I'd be hittin' the NYC show..no doubt about it. But, instead, I'm hittin' up the philly Troc show..heh. Will I be possibly the only person that'll REALLY stick out from the crowd like a sore thumb? Damn straight,yo..hahaha.

Hardcore+straight edge=not a metal fan.

 oh god...here we go again.

So I listen to hardcore and am sXe..big fucking deal. It's called "not limiting yourself to a specific genre". Have a problem with that? Then go fuck yourselves.

Goddamn close-minded bastards...:bah:

Do it! I'm from Atlanta myself (but at college in NY)...it's about a 15 hour drive to the city, I believe. C'mon, you can do it...:)

I'm trying to get something together with 3 of my friends. They all want to go, but they're not quite sure if they can. I'd go alone, except I need someone to drive, since I have no car. :(

I'd love to make it to the NYC show since my college has a loft in Manhattan that I could rent for a mere $35 a night. The only problem is getting to NYC as I probably won't have money for a plane ticket since I'm flying to Chicago to see Opeth. I definitely would like to catch a NYC show in the near future, though. I think I'll get a job soon and start saving for the next round of Opeth in NYC. :D
