At last PSA-1 in VST

This LOOKS great. I'm excited to try it out and see how it compares to the pro tools version
How much I remember PT version this seems to do same and more (added noise gate and compressor). Only thing that caught me off guard was that all sections are disabled by default.

It's ok, but doesn't sound better than the Sansamp sim in Guitar Rig, or AXP's Sansamp.

I did like the "Devicer" from the competition, very useful for degrading effects.

Wait aren't we talking about AXP's Sansamp in this topic?
Or am I missing something?
Maybe you ment that PT's one doesn't sound better?

AXP already have a Sansamp sim, called Softamp GT. The PSA-1 is a different version of Sansamp.

@Korwent
Sansamp is a general serie/technology from the brand Tech21.
It's some kind of analog amp sims in hardware format.

"Sansamp" alone means nothing, as there are a lot of devices under that name, from bass stomps (BDDI, VT...etc) to guitar stomps and racks (Character Series, GT2, PSA...etc) :

AXP modeled 2 of them, the Tech21 Sansamp GT2 stompbox (Softamp GT)

and now the Tech21 Sansamp PSA-1 rack (Softamp PSA)

And PSA-1 is in high praise for me since I heard it on bass guitars and tried it on Pro Tools lite. Real deal is out of reach for me and I hate PT with all my guts, so for many years I wished that psa come as vst.

To my knowledge Peter Tagtgren also uses it on guitars. I feel that the Softamp PSA only achieves those tones in broad strokes though, you really have to crank it to get that sound.

As a PSA1 user for about 15 years, I've always use it as a main guitar preamp, before power amp and cab...I've made some recordings with SM57 too, and while really dark sound (because of the cab sim/LPF not bypassable), it was a great unit for many times...Never really used it for direct recording, though, and when I use this plugin, I know why, it sounds so thin in comparison with the "roomy" guitar sound and a cab (I tried many cab sims, Torpedo etc...)...About bass sound in mix, I think I get better results with amp sims like Ampeg SVT...

Thanks for making the thread!
I just uploaded a user manual, it is now bundled in the same .zip file with DLL's.

about the GT2/PSA comparison:
The GT has some predefined settings (switches), while PSA has continuous controls with broader range. You can do in PSA everything you can in GT, but not the other way around.

Thanks a lot for this emulation, AXP!
It will definitely stay in my arsenal for bass sounds in the future.
I´m just a little bit sad that you didn't decide to emulate the sansamp RBI...maybe for the kvr developer challenge 2017? ;)
