I am fucking pissed. That has to be the most unergonomic way of doing something at all. (Try to flush a toilet by just looking at it!)
Is this an inside joke programmers did or what?

How the hell do you deal with it?
Those little dots are damn annoying to move around, I can barely see them!

:zombie:

I also really don't like the automation in Cubase, which is unfortunate, because it's my main software. I don't automate all that much though (I know I probably should to make a better end result).

There's some window where you can type in the exact value for all your automations. I always try which levels I want when automating and then I go to that window to type em in exactly at the point were I want them (and also with the value I want of course). But I'm not on my DAW now and I can't seem to remember where to find that window cause I don't use automation a whole lot. But maybe some of the guys know what I'm talking about and can chime in, ey?

Yeah, did you try that? The track background gets bigger but the line incl. dots stay at the same size (well almost...), not really helping

Yeah, I did try that. :P Well at least you see much more clearly the difference the automation line does. And for the dots, I try to put as little as possible. When you use the crayon and drag the mouse you make like 50'000 dots and that sucks. So I use the crayon and the pointer, button 1 and 8. Dunno if that helps.

But what sucks in Cubase is when you want to change the volume in a track with the 8 button, those dots are hell!

Yeah, that's the browser, Ctrl-B, makes things a lot easier!

^ah, yeah, that was what I had in mind but I wasn't 100% sure and I didn't want to make a fool out of myself by eventually posting a wrong shortcut. ;)

Do you want thicker bars and bigger dots? If you only need a bigger space to work with, just increase the automation track size, like Moonlight suggested..

Yeah, working on a auto track in its default size is something really frustrating, but with more space available I can't see where the problem should be..
