I LOVE his solo album, I reckon that's actually his most consistent. Definitely his lightest work though... But great!
That song "Someday" isn't really so much a cover, it was written by an outsider writer in the late 80s who just shopped it around and about 3 or 4 bands all recorded versions of it. FM, Airkraft, Mark Free, pretty sure there's another around too.
Kinda like how "Hide Your Heart" was recorded by Robin Beck & Ace Frehley both the same year it was recorded by Kiss, coz Paul & Desmond wrote it in about 86/87 to be sold to other artists along with a bunch of other songs (like Sword & Stone which Bonfire picked up).... Or how "You Wouldn't Know Love" (another Desmond Child classic!) was recorded by both Michael Bolton & Cher in the same year, fantastic song!!!!

My fave songs on Mark's solo album along with "Someday" are "Hard Heart To Break", "State Of Love", "The Last Time" and "Stranger"! And I also think the 2nd King Kobra is better than the first... Can't go past "Second Time Around" & "Iron Eagle"!!!!!
