What's the best way to mix backingtracks AND metronome to the drummers ears and only the backingtracks to the PA-system?
This seems so complicated, there must be an easier way to do this..
The easiest way to do this is to use an RCA cable and split the stereo so the drummer gets the metronome on one of the channels and the other channel goes to the mixer for backing track. To do this; go to your DAW and pan a metronome click 100% left (or right) and the backing tracks 100% right (or left) and then just render it.
move the play courser to the next song, repeat.
The only problem i have with this method is that it looks a little unprofesional to have the drummer tinkering with an open laptop at a gig. At least that's my opinion Do you think there is anyway to assign a midi controller to set the cursor to certain markers in Reaper? Then you could for example hit button 3 and it takes you to the start of song 3? I would love to use reaper live if this is possible.
