all those bands aren't overrated, they're simply just abysmal.

yea and as is usually the case with melodeath bands, the early works of arch enemy are pretty damn impressive. burning bridges is a lesson in riff superiority.

Ashes, Sacrament, and Wrath, I love pretty near as a whole tbh.

As for AA, Vs. The World (with the bonus disc) and With Odin on Our Side is all I have, but they're pretty good too. I think I'm set for Amon Amarth though.

Yes if you had never listened to Carcass-Heartwork and realise that that is where Ammot got most the ideas for most those riffs and they do it less than half as good as Carcass did it on Heartwork...
Then they go get a cool new image and a blonde that sounds like she is being anally raped on vocals and its success...
It is a bunch of regurgitated Carcass Heartwork riffs and the rest is image with the female singer and that
