Banned, but an apology to the ED forum..

Damn. It was more fun thinking I was banned. My apologies to the administrators of the ED forum. I still think its fishy that it happened within 45 minutes of my copy/paste job to this forum, but that's the conspiracy nut in me.

I wonder if they will allow me to start posting and openly debate the success of the the tour and maybe *listen* to reason (as I want this damn tour to succed)?

I'm keeping the avatar until I find out.

This is becoming a classic thread... GH - I'm still ok on that board, if you'd like, I'll secretly cut-n-paste the updates and forward them to your e-mail....

HAHAHA

Reminds me of a festival here in Vegas 5 years ago that actually happened, but failed miserably in attendance and cancellations. 20 small bands, none of which belonged on the same stage together, no advertising, and a big casino ballroom for the venue.

Would that be UltraSound?

Damn.... You're good! Ultrasound it was. Saxon would have been cool, but of course, they cancelled. Then you had the wierd mix of bands ranging from local 80's-ish band Lazy Jane alongside Agent Steel, Leatherwolf, Ken Tamplin, Cage... That's about as memorable as it gets. Not all bad bands, but too many for a no seat venue and too much variety to really please any one segment...

There was another one here 2 years ago, can't remember the name. Might as well have been Metalfest, almost all death metal. The show was in August. In Las Vegas. In a building with very poor a/c. Ouch! Anyway, they did no real advertising, and only announced the show about 6 weeks in advance. Needless to say, it lost a ton of money, and probably could have never made any anyway. Rumor has it the promoter saw the writing on the wall after Friday's poor showing, and cleaned out the ticket account to cover his own ass before Saturday's close. A lot of people got screwed out of their investment.

Lurkers are a major part of board communities so why would you ban them after 7 days of not posting. There are people who like to read up on things but have nothing to contribute. For a board that has some areas locked to unregistered users, that is just retarded (for lack of a better word). This guy not only doesn't know how to run a tour, but doesn't even know how to manage a forum.

I know about the Ultrasound thing because I was involved with it. Great intensions, like PowerMad, just very poor execution and based too much on a very dead model. I felt bad because I was the one who got Agent Steel on that bill.

What was funny as hell though, was watching Agent Steel and then... Vain. Loved it. Most of Agent steel loved it too, especially Bruce, who turned out to be a hair band fan like myself.

Oh well... at least it led me into better things... right Glenn? :headbang:
