The line "lead the way into death" is just so beautiful
The whole mellow part with the "every wretched dream" and the beatlesesque harmonies are Opeth at their finest
that whole song is just crazy, i mean it starts up so heavy and remains and then all the sudden has one of the best melodic parts they've done, only to have an evil growl rip it open
I am addicted to this song and album
 
I have found myself listening to Masters Apprentices many more times than anything else on the album at the moment. I am indeed addicted to the song as well.
 
I thought that part was the one everyone was saying was like Porcupine Tree...
 
Right now, "The Master's Apprentice" is my favorite song on "Deliverance". I love that middle section with the clean vocals and the "aahs. Just as you are lulled into that tranquil place in your mind you get hit square in the gut.
