Best Album Introduction

Son of Ulster brought up Dimmu Borgir... and I'd have to nominate them for one of the best outros for an album. "Perfection or Vanity" from Puritanical Euphoric Mysanthropia is a cool-ass outro.

Queens of the Stone's "Songs for the Deaf" has an awesome intro. It ties in with the whole cruisin' vibe.

Katatonia - Dispossession
My Dying Bride - The Dreaful Hours
Anathema - Deep
Nevermore - Ophidian
Amorphis - Alone
Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done

Well, I can't tell this is the most "beautiful" intro I've heard, but the best fo me is "Hell Awaits" intro from Slayer on the live album "Decade of Agression".
This intro seems endless and you can hear the crowd roaring at every guitar break; THAT'S TOTAL METAL !!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

the intro for the candle song from king diamond's fatal portrait still give me creeps!
"7 Years Have Gone, It Can No Longer Be Left Undone
The Candle Must Be Burn Again, And Pain
Must Follow the Unholy Flame
So Burn...Burn...Burn
And Free the Spirit From Its Chain"

i would say the intro for astral sleep from tiamat, the intro of wildhoney from tiamat and metropolis part2's intro from dreamtheater...

Hey, I wanted to mention both Tiamat - Wildhoney and Tiamat - Astral Sleep also! Clouds has also the one of the most powerful/atmospheric intros considering doom/death of the 1st half of the 90s...And don't forget Amorphis - Tales from the 1000 Lakes!

Husker Du - Something I Learned Today
Samael - Black Trip
Pig Destroyer - Jennifer
Joy Division - Atrocity Exhibition
Tool - Stinkfist
Pixies - Debaser
