Best Album the year you were born?

Spawny, best album of '78 is easy... VAN HALEN! Totally changed rock/metal guitar forever! Every flashy '80s style rock/metal guitarist since owes alot to that album!

My favourite album of my year, 1982... all depends on whether or not you consider Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love to be a 1981 or 1982 release. Their original independent release was 1981 but the version we all know was released in 1982.

So my favourite is either:

Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love (if you count it as 1982) .. or
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast (if you don't count Too Fast For Love as '82)

Honourable mentions:

Kiss - Creatures Of The Night
Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengeance
Whitesnake - Saints & Sinners
Twisted Sister - Under The Blade

Hmmmm.....
I'm very musically illiterate of my birth year.

Floyd is good, not much fussed on the Beatles, and will have to find out more about the rest.

Thanks

'63? Well, albums weren't really fashionable then, but that's when the Beatles went ballistic, so I'm guessing "Please Please Me" or something like that. :)

Cheers thought as much Beatles would have been very big then ........

I like the Beatles. They came up with a couple of good tunes in their day.

I thought that their pre-emptive covers of Motley Crue's "Helter Skelter', and Jackyl's "I am the Walrus" were pretty OK.

Other than that, I think the piss poor cartoon in the 70s might have ruined me and the Beatles for ever
