No doubts. It is Fenriz.

I really hope you didn't mean that. Because if you did, Get-A-Clue™.

The original "Transilvanian Hunger" stated "NORSK ARISK BLACK METAL" on the back ("Norwegian Aryan Black Metal") which made a few people believe Fenriz and Darkthrone were nazis. However, the next album Panzerfaust stated "Darkthrone is certainly not a nazi-band nor a political band. Those of you who think so can lick mother Mary's asshole in eternity." or something along those lines. Darkthrone were never serious about that, though they might have toyed around with extreme-right ideas in the past.
Some trivia: The only time Fenriz has ever been arrested was in his youth, in a leftist protest/demonstration thingie.

I think there's a difference between playing something that fits the music and being a good drummer. Johnny Kelly from Type O Negative plays stuff that fits their music very well and so did Steven Adler from Guns N' Roses, but I wouldn't call any of them anything above average. Sometimes less is more, but I don't believe it is always! I think being a talented drummer is showing that you can play stuff that fits the music and not ruin it with stupid indifferent fills and stuff and still be innovative! A guy like Dennis Chambers does this IMO! Of course fusion like jazz which he played with Mike Stern is a "free" form of music so you can more or less do all the stuff you like with your instrument, but I also have a live record he did with The P-Funk All-Stars and that's funk. The Parliament/Funkadelic (which is more or less the same as P-Funk All-Stars) that had been released before this had drums that fitted the music pretty well I guess, but were super simple. Dennis Chambers made fitting drums on the live record as well as doing insane technical stuff!Originally posted by MacMoney
That is because your point of view is flawed. You look at the drumming from a technical point of view while that is exactly NOT the way to look (listen) to black metal.
