I have heard alot about cradle of filth from friends, and i want to get an album of theirs just to see if they are as good as i have heard.

Whats the best one to get. all i have heard of the is a couple of songs off nymphetamine.

It depends what you want. I dont have all of them, but I have heard everything off their last 4 albums and portions of the earlier ones. I think Dusk and Her Embrace & Cruelty and the Beast are closer to their black metal influences, everything after is more varied. Damnation and a Day is a great album, probably their best work imo, but Nymphetamine is quite good too. I want to get their older albums though. Ill probably get a few songs off Cruelty and the Beast in a few minutes, my brother gave me a itunes card.

Principles of evil made flesh and dusk and her embrace are the best. Median and Cruelty... are also ok, the rest are pretty shit

None. Buy Dimmu Borgir's discography instead.
That's what I'm doing at the moment, and I think Dimmu Borgir is better, but I really want some Cradle of Filth, I'm considering getting Dusk and Her Embrace soon, I woulda had Damnation and a Day by now had it not got lost in the mail via an Ebay buy, I'm giving up on ever getting that in the mail at the moment, it's nearly been a month but I got refunded so it all turned out ok. Any Cradle except Thornography will do.:)

I am not trying to sound kvlt or anything but download the demos. They are much better than the new stuff. The Principle of Evil Made Flesh is decent at best. Otherwise stay away.

You sound like you're trying to sound kvlt Alter :p You remind me of that guy on here who said the only thing Metallica ever did that was worth a shit was their "No Life 'Til Leather" Demo.

I would have thought "Principles" would have been better than it is, but it's not very good. Some of their demos are fair, but they're not great.

CoF put out some good albums in their earlier period. I would say "Dusk & Her Embrace" & "Cruelty & the Beast" are definitely their best. They had a great concept on those albums. I don't really think one album is really any better than the other one. "Vempire" is a decent EP. For their newer stuff get "Nymphetamine". "Midian" & "Thornography" blow.

Also understand that most OMGORZ tr00 metal heads think Cradle are pussies that make un-tr00 music. I think they'er alright, but a lot of people here hate them by default, so this isn't really the best place to ask about them.

Guys, you can't expect someone else to hate a band just because you do. There are a good bit of people who like them, I'm sure. I think they've done some good stuff personally.

Hearrrrr Me nowwwww!

All crimes should be treasured if they bring thee pleasure somehowwww...

i agree and disagree, cuz i like Damnation and a day. CoF is a good band, but the fans make some straight headbangers hates them

Dude, I would say Dusk and Her Embrace... That's some pretty good stuff, especially Heaven Torn Asunder and Funeral in Carpathia. I seriously do not recommend any of Cradle's more recent stuff, although Cruelty and the Beast actually isn't so bad.

Really, though. Cradle of Filth is pretty much Dani Filth plus some random guys who come and go. Not that it's bad, but the band should just call itself Dani Filth and be honest.
