Best death metal band?

for pure death metal i would have to say it's Decapitated, i've not heard any band who is more technical the them or write aswell as they do. There next album is going to be incredible.

Decapitated are weak in comparison, I saw em live and they were rather poor...

I'd say either Possessed or Slaughter (Canada). None of the acts that came after these founders come even close. Death is quite close though.

Don't worry man, I love them! Saw them live supporting Vader and they were amazing, especially considering there's only 1 guitarist. 'Nihility' is my fav track by them, great stuff.

As for best death metal bands...

yeah a friend mentioned them to me today. I'm usually not a fan of crazy death metal, but it seems that it may be worth the listen.
